Daily Ramble
The weekend was pretty uneventful with the exception being Sunday night spent with Craig and Tamsyn at the movies (Blood Diamond) and the then dinner (Mexican Chilli). Michelle posted more about this here.
Craig also brought me down a copy of the Tech-Reel videos he has already downloaded, and I've been spending the last few days going through them. Tech-Reel is a collection of Channel 9 videos we use for SA Developer.Net and Craig's pet project and brand. The videos are brilliant, detailed interviews with the key developers and managers at Microsoft, covering subject from Vista to CLR. Some can be lengthy and boring but they contain a wealth of information. You can read more about the Channel 9 project here.
I have spent the bulk of my morning having an argument with Speed Services regarding the pathetic service they give. We have a package my parents sent down on Sunday, which was meant to arrive this morning. However it has been delayed and will only arrive tomorrow, although we paid for priority delivery. Between the 8 phone calls I finally got a hold of the Branch Manager for KZN and hopefully it will arrive later today. This is the second time that Speed Services has delayed our deliveries from JHB, and it seems to be becoming a general problem, to an extent were we are now researching an alternative, probably in the direction of DHL or TNT.
I am currently investigating how to increase hits to website, using search engine optimisation and advertising, since I actively want to market both Diago.co.za and HoneyB.co.za this year. Will post information as I process and implement them and hopefully it will bring some good changes to the two sites. I am also currently thinking of removing the links to SA Top Blogs, as I am not getting any response from them regarding the suspension of both Diago.co.za and HoneyB.co.za, without warning. They seem to not be active at all anymore and if I have no feedback from them by the end of the week I will be removing the links to them off the site and looking for an alternative.
