Michelle and I try and go to at least 2 movies a week, when we can afford it. Last night we decided to go watch Bunny Chow, and have to admit we were fairly disappointed. Although I believe the movie has a top class cast, the storyline itself was a bit dry and not entirely what we expected, especially after watching the brilliant trailers. The storyline was just too predictable, and we eventually walked out due to boredom. Not a movie I will recommend to anyone however I do believe each person should make up their own mind regarding a movie such as this.

I spent the day at TechDays in Durban yesterday. I was impressed with the high quality of the talks, and also the amount of interest the Vista talks generated compared to the Office 2007 talks held at the same event. A lot of useful information was gathered and I was also able to make some brilliant connections while I was there, making it a worthwhile day away from the office. On Monday there is a Microsoft Development Road show in Durban and I can’t wait to see what it is going to be all about.

I am a member of various forums, and I am more and more amazed at how easily people use Vista as an excuse for application incompatibilities and driver issues. I am even more amazed at how people can make statements without any basis or proof of the facts they so easily throw around. The problem with the information highway at the moment is the huge amount of false information that is being distributed through forums and other mediums, and I sometimes wonder how this can be controlled in some way, not censored, however somewhere something needs to be done to divide the true facts from the false claims so easily made. I have resorted to removing some of my posts and distancing myself from certain forums for this exact reason, since I don’t have the time to defend statements I make, when the necessary and required proof is provided along with it.

Tonight I am doing my first SA Developer talk at IT Intellect in Musgrave. I am sure it’s going to be an interesting evening, and armed with some more news from Microsoft gathered at TechDays I am hoping to impact on at least one person at the meet. There will be a wide variety of individuals attending.

My calendar is currently jam packed with work and events, and I will probably be snowed under for another couple of weeks. Hopefully at the end of the month this will prove to be worthwhile.
