Daily Ramble
It's turning into Friday the 13th today. I got to the Ranger this morning and one of the four brand new Yokohama tire I bought a week ago was flat. Not the greatest feeling at 8:00am in the morning. So after pulling out the spare I found that one of the bolts are smaller then the rest and my wheel spanner doesn't fit. Thankfully Hi-Q sent out their driver to come and sort it out and we found a nail straight through the tire, luckily something they can fix. At R 800.00 odd for a tire I am not ideally looking forward to replacing one.
We are busy rolling out a implementation to Ethekwini Municipality at the moment for Intervowen. It's a DMS system that stores all the documentation within the company and we have written a web service in ASP.Net 2.0 to allow external application to integrate with the system. It's a joint development between KZN and Gauteng and the developer is here for 2 days to roll out the test versions. The flat tire is making me late for the appointment but thankfully they can start without me. I have also been busy with an AJAX enabled Helpdesk for one of my previous companies and this will be completed this evening, with full AccPac integration and a nice new interface. Apart from this I am working on two Mobile applications, one for Windows Mobile 5 and another for PalmOS, the latter not going very well with my limited C++ knowledge.
Michelle and I can't get enough of our extended family. We have 4 dogs and 4 cats, each with their own individual personality, and this morning having coffee outside we were in stitches watching the whole group of them playing together. We love our animals dearly and the two new siblings, Brat (4 month old ginger tabby cat) and Xena (2 month old Sharpei Cross) is integrating well with the rest of the family, although the latter is in her chewing stage and everything is getting devoured by her small teeth. Hopefully she will get over it soon. Morning feeding time is truly an adventure in our house which I will not exchange for anything else in the world.
I have pretty much worked planned for most of the weekend, since I have a lot of upcoming projects that needs to be prepared. I have had a fairly good response to my request for speakers at the next SA Developer event, and need to confirm two more names today to finalize the process. I have also gotten the Tutorial Centre off the ground this week and will hopefully start posting the first set of tutorials this coming weekend.
For those of you using Facebook I finally gave in and registered. You can add me using severanc3 at gmail dot com.
