It's July. I have to admit that June saw me under the radar most of the month. I haven't blogged half as much as I should have, did none of the reviews or code samples I intended, nor did I keep track of what was happening in the industry. I kept a close eye on it, however didn't post about it. I have been pretty much bogged down with work. BTG has me working on more enhancements for the AMS system including GPS tracking of assets. I am also about to start a Waste Management system and also completed an upgrade on the internal Timesheet system. I have been doing a lot of AJAX work and will hopefully blog about this soon. I have also did a complete AJAX conversion on the WearCheck project I have been involved in, removing the old frames site and replacing it with a completely AJAX driven website.

We have had a hectic month at home as well. My father in law spent a week in hospital after a serious cut on his arm became septic and this seep into the bone. He was taken in for surgery to safe his arm. His recovered since and returned to work today. Michelle's cousin is visiting us for 2 weeks from Pretoria, and we finally caught up on some movies, watching Fantastic Four and Oceans 13 in the last month. We have not had a very social month since most of my time has been taken up with work. July seems to be slowing things down a bit and hopefully I will be able to catch up on everything I had planned to do in the last month.

SA Developer.NET will be back in July in full swing. We have had issues with venues which seems to have been resolved, and this will be finalized by the end of the week. We will then be starting out with two socials and a solid event which will be posted on the forums as always. I am hoping to present a talk on AJAX and also cover some basic design layouts for website's. The June community distribution CD's should also arrive shortly and among these would be the Orcas Express Beta 1 installations as well. My community credit price also arrived over the weekend and the Planetary Clock has a proud place on my desk next to my notebook. The certificate will also be framed and hung shortly.

My saga with Speed Services also continues. It is almost three weeks and they have still not come to a conclusion regarding the loss of the HTC phone. They are still investigating. Surprising the SAPS have confirmed that the issue will be resolved and they are investigating, which is surprisingly considering it's a case of theft against a corporate company. I am still surprised by the actual lack of interest shown by any person at Speed Services to resolve this issue, and am planning to post more about this later in the week.

We also have a new member of the family. Since the disappearance of Basil, our little kitten Brat has become extremely lonely. One of our friends Tamsyn located a small black kitten who joined the family and was christened Spartan. He's a little menace only after a week and have integrated well, although he is very wary of the dogs. Photos should follow in future posts.

Finally I am hoping to complete the Subtext conversion for the site this month, along with a brand new look and feel. Watch this space!
