The month of February is gone. It really feels like it slipped by. I have been at Mr. Price Group for over a month now and I am still shell shocked and hope great working here is. I am currently involved in a SharePoint project and getting a change to code, yet allowed to try new things and find out what technology will work the best for what we need to do. I am also really enjoying the respect between people and the way we work together to solve problems. I was unsure about making the move but right now it was the best thing I could ever have done. I am also loving getting back into coding, having missed it a lot more then I realised while I was training.

I am also in full swing with preparations for DevDays 2009. I am doing two sessions this year, one of WCF REST and another on XNA Game Studio. The first event is next week in Durban and I am busy polishing off the presentations and finalising demonstration material. It was a nice challenge for me since I haven’t really worked with these technologies, but in the last month implemented a REST service at work and was able to understand the challenges under the hood. I’ve also been working with MVC more and I am hoping to do a complete website soon. I also have another website I am hoping to launch in the next to month focussed at technology in general.

Michelle and I also both upgrade to Apple iPhone 3g’s. So far we are highly impressed with these little devices and I will do an Impressions blog about it in the next few weeks. Along with our MacBook’s we are completely sold on the Apple technology stack for day to day usage. It has only been a week but these little devices as already changed our idea of receiving email and keeping in touch.

I am no longer going to make promises about blogging more often, but for those who do follow the blog, see you soon!
