My wife sent me a Twitter message earlier today letting me know that I have mail from Jeff Atwood. They recently printed some stickers for Stack Overflow, Super User and Server Fault. All the moderators from all the sites where lucky enough to receive some of these stickers, which Jeff mailed to use directly.
These stickers are being given away at the Stack Overflow DevDays in the US and UK over the next few weeks, and are also available to current site members. Also anyone that is in the Top 2 pages of the Stack Overflow Users list will be receiving some from Jeff. For others interested in obtaining these stickers details are available on the blog here.
I was asked by Jeff and the team to become a moderator for the Super User site a few weeks back, after a voting period by the community on Meta Stack Overflow. I will admit I am extremely honoured to be part of a international team including the How-To-Geek. The Super User site is growing quickly and a definite good fit with the rest of the Stack Overflow Trilogy. The major role of the moderators on these sites is to deal with the odd spam and user issues, with the rest of the site being moderator by the 10K plus site users. So far it has been an interesting and fun challenge.
I highly recommend these sites to anyone who is a programmer, server administrator or consider themselves a computer super user. The community is extremely knowledgeable and the reputation concept is a definite win.
The next challenge is to find a place for all these stickers…
