Daily Ramble
Entries about daily life and activities. Every once in a while I like to write about what is happening in my life outside of the technologies and community activities I am involved in.

I woke up late this morning and decided to finish the site design for HoneyB.co.za. This is my wife's site and when I was redesigning Diago.co.za a while back I found a design I really liked. I got a change to implement it fairly quickly, and she designed a new image for the home page in the process.

I decided that it was time for the home network to get an upgrade, since testing the new Visual Studio 2010 TFS, developing 3 new websites, sky rocketing bandwidth usage and overworked machines where beginning to take its toll. Unfortunately I should have seen my wife packing up her MacBook and moving to the lounge as a sign that this was not going to be anywhere as simple as I claimed it would be.

I have not updated my blog for over a week, however the lack of updates where do to moving the domain and all my other hosting solutions to a new provider in the United States. Because of a few new requirements in my development projects I needed to use provider that support Windows Server 2008 and IIS7, as well as Framework 3.5 SP1 and Asp.net Mvc.

After my class got cancelled I decided to take a weeks leave. I spend the week with my wife and we were able to complete some activities and tasks which had been outstanding for some time. We also got the opportunity to take the dogs to the beach.

On Saturday 23 August 2008, Michelle and I had our wedding at Illovo Africa Lodge. The weather turned out great, all the guests arrived on time and the whole day was better then either of us expected. After all the stress and planning, the 6 week lead time we had to prepare everything turned out great.

After being engaged for almost 3 years Michelle and I are finally tying the knot on Saturday, 23 August. She has done and amazing job in planning the wedding in under 8 weeks, and with less then 4 days to go the last minute rush is about to start.

I travelled to JHB to attend some meetings with Microsoft and IT Intellect around business and the community. While I was there I was able to meet with various community leads around events planned for the year.

While purchasing licenses for ecto for myself and my wife I made a very stupid mistake when registering, a mistake I did not pick up myself but a helpful support person did.
